The Board of Control for Cricket in India has taken a decision regarding Shubman Gill's situation, who was injured during the England tour. BCCI has asked Shubman Gill to come back to India.

According to reports, the selectors have refused to send Prithvi Shaw and Devdutt Padikkal to England tour as replacements for Shubman Gill.

BCCI will not send any player to England as a replacement for Shubman Gill. Team India already has three reserve batsmen for the opening spot in the form of Mayank Agarwal, KL Rahul and Abhimanyu Easwaran. It has already been made clear by the team management that KL Rahul will not be given the responsibility of opening. This means that the team is left with the option of Mayank Agarwal and Abhimanyu Easwaran along with Rohit Sharma.

Earlier, former Indian team captain Kapil Dev said that sending Prithvi Shaw to England will send a wrong message to the team.

Kapil Dev said, 'I don't think there is any need for it. The selectors should also have some respect. They have also picked a team and I am sure it would not have happened without the advice of Virat Kohli and Ravi Shastri. I mean you have two big openers in KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal. Do you really need the third option? I don't think it is correct. I am not impressed by this theory.

Team India's opener Shubman Gill suffered a shin stress fracture due to which he can be away from any cricketing action for at least two months.
