NEET 2020 Highlights: Exams conducted amid strict protocols

The exam was conducted by National Testing Agency for admission to various medical courses and 15, 97,433 candidates had registered to appear in it this year.

The country’s most competitive medical entrance exam was National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) was held in more than 3800 centers across the country with strict measures necessitated due to pandemic which also led to postponing of exam twice this year. The exam was conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to various medical courses for which 15, 97,433 candidates registered. Around 85-90% appeared for exams despite the pandemic, Union Minister for Education Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank stated ‘’NTA informed me that around 85-9-% appeared in NEET exam today. I sincerely thank all the Chief Minister and NTA for proper arrangements made to facilitate student’s participation. NEET participation reflects the tenacity and grit of young Atma Nirbhar Bharat”.

The exam was held on September 13th from 2pm-5pm however students were asked to report at their respective exam centers in staggered slots from 11am onwards to avoid crowd at single time in any center. Candidates’ temperature were checked before they were allowed into centers and upon entering were handed fresh face mask and asked to sanitize their hands. Examination halls were allowed to accommodate maximum 12 candidates at a time allow social distance.

Soon the NEET paper analysis and NEET answer keys will be available for the candidates to check their probable score. Candidates who qualify the exam with required cutoff will be eligible to appear in counseling and admission process further.
