BJP activists burn effigy of tax symbolic to Holika

After the new BJP government coming into power in Uttar Pradesh, the BJP members were seen taking out a protest rally against the taxation imposed by Municipal Corporation which is under the Samajwadi Party (SP). They call themselves `Tax Virodhi Sangharsh Samiti`, had taken to streets in Bareilly city.

After the new BJP government coming into power in Uttar Pradesh, the BJP members were seen taking out a protest rally against the taxation imposed by Municipal Corporation which is under the Samajwadi Party (SP). They call themselves `Tax Virodhi Sangharsh Samiti`, had taken to streets in Bareilly city. They were received with huge applause by the people lined up on the both sides of the streets. These activists assured the people that they will continue to raise issues in public interest. The activists said that they will not allow the civic body to impose tax on common people which is not only exorbitant but also anarchy. They termed the tax as `Jazia Tax` which was levied during the time of Mughal rulers. Civic body would seal the properties who ever failed to pay the tax. The Tax Virodhi Sangharsh Samiti members said the new regime in the state will raise the issue and will not allow to impose such taxes. The members later burnt the effigy of taxes symbolic with the Holika.
