Around 9 pm, as soon as we entered into Uttar Pradesh, police at Baghpat border stopped us from staying with them around two hours without any reason.”Rakesh said two heifers died since they had no fodder for 18 hours.Chief veterinary officer Dr Vinod Kumar said, “It has become very common to stop cattle breeder who brings cows from Rajasthan and Haryana. Harassment of poor farmers in the name of curbing cow smuggling is completely wrong. Losing even one cattle ruins a farmer’s finance since has to take loans to buy animals.”
