The incidence of rape was not confirmed in postmortem report, he said adding that efforts are on to nab the absconding persons. The police, however, informed that the incident of rape was not confirmed in postmortem report.According to reports, the girl, a native of a village in Dehat Kotwali police station in Mirzapur district, had gone to the field on call of nature on Tuesday night. She was overpowered by four persons and taken to a nearby hut. She was allegedly gang raped, and before leaving the place they set the hut afire in which the girl was charred to death.Seeing the fire local villagers rushed to the place and extinguished the fire, but the girl could not be saved. The police reached there after getting information and sent the body for postmortem.Dehat Kotwali inspector Pramod Yadav told to TOI over phone that on the complaint of girl`s family members an FIR was lodged against four persons under sections 376, 302 and 436 of IPC and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. He said that two accused including Komal Kumar and Babu Nanadan Yadav were arrested, while two others Mahendra Kumar and Sanjay Kumar were on the run. The incidence of rape was not confirmed in postmortem report, he said adding that efforts are on to nab the absconding persons.
