VISAKHAPATNAM: TDP supported BJP candidate PVN Madhav won the graduates MLC constituency in North Andhra by a margin of 5,712 votes over Progressive Democratic Front (PDF) candidate Avadhanula Aja Sarma After the counting of first preferential votes in eight rounds on Tuesday evening, Madhav was in the lead with 5,045 votes. But he did not get 50 per cent of the total votes and the counting staff went for the second preferential votes.While counting the second preferential votes, Madhav got 47,622 votes and Sarma got 41,910 votes by the end of 28 elimination rounds.He got the required votes by 3 am on Wednesday after which returning officer Pravin Kumar declared him the winner.Madhav said he will focus on the separate railway zone issue and fulfil all the promises made by him during the campaign.
