Three months into session 1 crore primary students still havenrsquot got text books

AGRA: Around 60% students of state government-run primary and upper primary schools, numbering over one crore children, have not been provided text books by the basic education department. An internal assessment conducted by the department has revealed that even after much delay, books have not been distributed to students so far. Meanwhile English medium schools started by the state government are operating without books.According to the basic education department records, around 1.73 crore students are enrolled in primary schools of the state government. All these students under the Right to Education (RTE) act are required to be provided new books free of cost.
