Food at 11 multiplexes under the scanner

Till Wednesday, AMC has collected 1,519 food samples from different parts of the city and sent them for laboratory testing. Over 16 stalls running in these multiplexes were issued notices asking them to improve hygiene standard.The results of the samples taken are expected in 10 days. Out of these, 76 were found to be misbranded, 61substandard and 1unsafe.Total 138 food samples were found unsafe for consumption.Talking about action at multiplexes, AMC Medical Officer of Health (in-charge) Bhavin Solanki, said, “Notices have been issued to 16 separate units inside the multiplexes. The hygiene conditions were not miserable, but we have asked them to improve their standards for which notices have been issued.”.
