Ex-Junagadh Municipal Commissioner Vijay Rajput suspended for corruption

Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani on Wednesday ordered to suspend 2009 batch IAS officer Vijay Rajput for corruption charges against him when he was the municipal commissioner of the Junagadh Municipal Corporation (JMC). Rajput served as the Junagadh Municipal Commissioner from August 26, 2016, till April 8, 2018. Moreover, the state government in the past suspended several senior IAS officers including O Ravi, DK Rao and Pradeep Sharma over corruption charges. Dhuleshiya said Rajput also faced corruption charges for accepting bribes in connection with promotions of JMC employees. The latest order of suspension is the result of the same and transparent nature and zero tolerance against corruption policy of CM Vijay Rupani.".
