A sessions court in Ahmedabad on Saturday rejected the bail plea of suspended chief engineer of Himmatnagar municipality. Chief engineer Ashwin Darji was arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau from SG Highway while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 2.46 lakh from the complainant. Darji is alleged to have sought 2 per cent commission from a businessman involved in construction work. It is alleged that he sought the commission to accept a bill of Rs 1.23 crore from the construction firm, which is building Dr Nalinkant Gandhi town hall in Himmatnagar in Sabarkantha district.
