Gujarat: Amul sends notice to Google over fraud through ads

Amul said in a release that a series of fake B2B campaigns, regarding Amul parlours and distributors, were started through fake websites using Google Search ads since September. "Miscreants have been running paid ads on Google Search engine against keywords such as Amul Franchisee, Amul Parlour, and Amul Distributor among others, with the intent of duping individuals with fake promises of business opportunities with Amul," it said. Amul said it had also issued a notice to goDaddy.com for earning revenues from such individuals through subscriptions. The dairy major said the most effective way to stop such activities is to prevent use of platforms such as Google search. "Once the payment is made, miscreants stop all forms of communication," it said..
