AHMEDABAD: After model code of conduct for 2019 General elections came into effect, a total of Rs 95.43 lakh cash has been seized by flying squads- These cases include that of Amreli district in which Rs 25 lakh were seized. Out of 13412 Non bailable warrants, we have delivered about 5359 warrants after the election dates were announced. “As far as preventive detention is concerned we have detained about 53008 persons, and a total of ahout 8000 under other preventive acts. 228 persons have been detained under the Prevention of Anti- Social Activities Act (PASA) . Officials said apart deploying three Flying Squads per constituency, toll free numbers, call centres and control rooms have been set up in each district to ensure smooth flow of information.State Election Commission said nodal officer of each district for election expenditure has been appointed, who will keep an eye on the expenditure made by the candidate..
