Allahabad: Joint team of the crime branch and Naini police nabbed five thieves stealing telecom tower batteries after an encounter in the catchment area of Naini, on Tuesday. The arrested miscreants were identified as Prakash Singh, Waseem Khan, Mohd Usman, Nihal Singh and Sudhir Singh. One of the accused sustained bullet injuries on his leg and was admitted to SRN Hospital.The gang used to steal telecom tower batteries and sell it for lead or for re-use in inverters and e-rickshaws.
