Summary:

Rampur: The healthcare situation in Rampur, a city ranked at the bottom nationwide in Ease of Living index, is abysmal. Although the city has a population of 3.25 lakh, the eight doctors’ posts at the district women’s hospital have been lying vacant since November 2017. Now we have been instructed to refer all cesarian cases to Moradabad district hospital or to any other trauma centre in a neighbouring district. Two retired doctors, both in their seventies, have been roped in to perform deliveries and to look after the patients inside the hospital on a contractual basis. Even inside the labour room we have to look after the delivery without doctors..
