CPI (M) seeks debt waiver for farmers

Bathinda, October 16A delegation headed by district secretary of the Communist Party of India (CPI) (Marxist) Gurdev Singh Bandi submitted a memorandum, addressed to the Chief Minister, to the Deputy Commissioner here on Wednesday. In the memorandum, they sought steps to eradicate drugs from the state. They also demanded complete debt waiver for farmers who are unable to repay their loan. The delegation members urged the Chief Minister to roll back the hike in power tariff and cancel the agreements done with private companies.
