BHOPAL: During the Nawabi era in Bhopal, the preferred destinations for Holi celebrations were the Taj Mahal Palace and Ahmedabad Palace.‘Zamarul Mahal’, the middle portion of Taj Mahal Palace, was the location for Holi celebrations, according to heritage conservationist and historian SM Hussain. Fitted with highly ornamental water architecture and still functioning terracotta and copper pipelines sealed within its roof, it was the destination for Holi festivities.
