Heavy rain likely from Monday

BHUBANESWAR:: A low pressure area forming over the Bay of Bengal is likely to cause heavy to very heavy rain in several parts of the state from Monday onwards. The Met office predicts that the intensity of rain will increase from Sunday and several coastal districts will get heavy rain on Monday. "North and interior Odisha will get heavy rain on Tuesday," said the director of India Meteorological Department's Bhubaneswar centre, H R Biswas. Fishermen in deep sea were advised to return to the coast by Sunday evening.The IMD also issued rain and thunderstorm warnings in several districts on Saturday. Under the influence of a cyclonic circulation, several parts of the state witnessed moderate rain on Saturday.The cyclonic circulation is currently at the north Bay of Bengal and is likely to intensify into a low pressure in the next 48 hours..
