242 passengers fined for travelling sans ticket

Tribune News ServiceChandigarh, August 23The Ambala division of the Northern Railways today went on a ticket-checking spree. Officials penalised 242 passengers travelling without a ticket. They collected an amount of Rs 2,67,430 by penalising those travelling without the ticket and for various other violations. Twenty people were fined for littering, while several catering units were inspected at Ambala, Rajpura and Yamunanagar, Jagadhri.
