Summary:

The police said even the CCTV cameras at the OBC Bank — adjacent to the said ATM —were not functional. Thieves, in the absence of any security guard, had easily managed to cut through the ATM and made off with Rs 12.61 lakh on the intervening night of Friday and Saturday. The police said they had already warned the bank manager to install more CCTVs and deploy security guard, however, the bank officials were said to have turned a blind eye to the warnings. Station House Officer (SHO), Ghanaur, Gurmeet Singh Gill, said there was no CCTV footage at the ATM. The police said despite strong guidelines in place, there was not even a single security guard at the ATM..
