Families evacuated as rivers swell

Road links and rail services continue to be affected across the state.For the second consecutive day, Trichy and Karur districts were put on high alert following heavy flow in the Cauvery. The Salem district administration has given 'red alert' to Mettur and its surrounding areas.In Coimbatore district, over 1,000 people from several low-lying areas were moved to temporary shelters by the administration on Friday as water bodies began to swell..
