Coimbatore: As many as 2,129 students of corporation schools in the city will get free laptops under the state government’s free laptops for students scheme for the year 2017-2018.On Thursday, a total of 551 students from corporation schools in R S Puram were given the laptops. Minister for municipal administration, rural development and implementation of special programmes SP Velumani attended the event held at the Corporation SRP Ammaniammal School.Meanwhile, work to provide the laptops to 1,578 students in 13 corporation schools is underway.
