Chinna Thambi lodged in kraal at elephant camp

Coimbatore: Rogue tusker Chinna Thambi , who was captured from Sarkar Kannadipudur village near Madathukulam in Tirupur district on Friday, was shifted to a kraal at Varakaliyar elephant camp near Topslip early Saturday morning.The 25-year-old tusker remained calm while being shifted to the enclosure, district forest officer of Pollachi division AS Marimuthu told TOI. The forest department used the kumkis to capture wild elephants or drive them away from agricultural fields on forest fringes..
