Call to keep bars, clubs open till 2 a.m.

like in Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra. Mr.Benze Saravanan, president of the Tamilnadu Bar and Club Owners’ Association, participated, says a release. A resolution in this regard was passed at the annual meeting of the Coimbatore Boarding and Lodging Association held in Coimbatore on Thursday. Other resolutions passed by the association were:appointment of an independent commissioner for prohibition and enforcement, ensuring availability of premium imported liquor to the clubs, extending drought beer licence to entire State considering the high inflow of national and international tourists to Coimbatore, scraping the liquor licence to private bars by the tourism department, reducing the conditions for issuing FL2/FL3 licences to the Clubs, renewing lapsed or un-renewed licences after a specific period in line with the recent order of the Madurai bench of the Madras High Court, considering issuance of FL2/FL3 licences even if the clubs have only 10 rooms as it would help support tourism to thrive, ensure safety and security of foreign tourists, maintaining restrictions related to minimum distance from the places of worship, educational institutions and hospitals only for Tasmac and not clubs..
