Rudrapur: Former Congress minister for health, Tilak Raj Behar, narrowly escaped death after the car he was travelling in was hit by a speeding Uttar Pradesh roadways bus on the Delhi highway near Rampur on Sunday.Behar and two others injured in the accident were rushed to a private hospital in Rudrapur. The bus driver and conductor fled from spot and search is on to nab them, police said.Behar’s personal assistant, Mehul Sharma, said that the former minister was heading to Kotputli in Rajasthan from Rudrapur to attend a family function. Around 4 am on Sunday, his Innova was hit by a speeding UP roadways bus coming from the opposite direction.Doctors said that Behar suffered severe injuries in the chest and back but his condition is stable.A case has been registered against the errant bus driver with the Civil Lines police station in Rampur on the complaint of Behar’s driver Satnam Singh..
