Start flights from Delhi to Pantnagar within 30 days: HC

Nainital: Uttarakhand high court (HC) on Monday while hearing a petition related to Pantnagar airport directed a private operator Deccan Charters Private Limited, which is to begin flight operations at the airport, to “start its operations within 30 days on the Delhi-Pantnagar-Dehradun route as per the Letter of Award (LOA) dated March 30, 2017.”The division bench of acting Chief Justice Rajiv Sharma and justice Manoj Kumar Tiwari also directed Airports Authority of India (AAI) to take all necessary steps to terminate the LOA issued in favour of the charter operator issued on March 30, 2017 “within a period of six weeks if the flights are not made operational.”The HC also ordered the state government, ministry of civil aviation and AAI to take necessary steps to enhance the regional connectivity as per the MOU signed on November 11, 2016..
