One more dies of swine flu toll reaches 7

This came a day after a 52-year-old woman from Mohkampur succumbed to the disease.“According to the latest report received from various hospital , the total number of people tested positive for swine flu is 10, while seven deaths have occurred so far,” said chief medical officer of Dehradun Dr SK Gupta told TOI.Meanwhile, another positive case has surfaced in Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital where a 55-yer-old woman from Suman is being treated for H1N1 virus. She was admitted in hospital on January 14.The state health department has announced that it will conduct an audit of each swine flu deaths that has occurred in the state.For the past one week, the swine flu cases have seen a spike in Dehradun.On Sunday, a 71-year-old woman from Nehru Colony in Dehradun and a 48-year-old man from Jakholi in Rudraprayag have succumbed to the virus.Doctors have sounded alert and formed a dedicated team to spread awareness camps in schools.Common symptoms of swine flu are cough, fewer, sore throat, stuffy nose, problem in breathing, body aches, headache, chills and fatigue.According to doctors, the flu can be prevented from spreading by following few precautionary measures, inlcuding covering nose and mouth with a mask; washing hands frequently; avoid touching eyes, nose, or mouth; avoid contact with sick people..
