FM demands Delhi’s share of Rs 6,000 cr

The demand was put forward in a pre-Budget meeting of finance ministers convened by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman today. Sisodia said for the past 18 years, Delhi was getting Rs 325 crore from the central taxes, while other states get an enhanced share in central taxes. Sisodia tweeted in Hindi, “The people of Delhi give Rs 1.5 lakh crore as central taxes. Other states get 42 per cent of share from central taxes.”In the Interim Budget in February this year, the Centre had allocated Rs 1,112 crore for Delhi in the Union Budget, while keeping its share in central taxes and duties unchanged..
