Karwar: On a day when protesters blocked NH 66 at London Bridge here on Thursday demanding early completion of the Hubballi-Ankola railway line Karwar MLA Roopali Naik called for a high-level inquiry into the NGOs opposing the project.She suspected that the NGOs are being used to oppose the railway project along with two major defence projects — INS Kadamba and Kaiga Atomic Power Station . “Transport lobbies are using some NGOs and environmentalists to block the project. In a statement, she also demanded a study on the NGOs opposing the project and investigation into their source of income.Roopali said that she met railway minister Piyush Goyal in New Delhi last week and urged him to complete the ambitious project.Earlier in the day, police detained protesters for blocking NH 66.
