Summary:

The play, written by Manu Bhandari , was staged by Rangmanch art of drama and was directed by Sandeep Dubey. The story revolves around a village in Uttar Pradesh where a dalit is murdered. The play unfolds amidst state assembly polls as the protagonist who knows the truth about the murder and wants to bring justice to the deceased’s family.However, becomes a victim of dirty politics and bureaucracy and is thrown behind bars himself. One of the highly appreciated plays of Hindi literature ‘Mahabhoj’ was staged at the city’s Anand Mohan Mathur auditorium recently in which the artists told the tale of falling integrity in Indian democracy and politics. It was well received by the audience as they felt it was pertinent to the current time..
