67 cases of dengue larvae detected in city

Separate teams of Anti-larva Cell carried out the drive under Civil Surgeon Gurinder Kaur Chawla and epidemiologist Dr Satish KumarThe team initiated the drive at various places such as Gandhi Camp, Brring, Tobri Mohalla, Kot Baba Deep Singh, Vijay Nagar, Avtar Nagar, Qazi Mandi, Saraswati Vihar, Kishanpura, Navi Baradari, Kaniyawali Mohalla in Garha and Lasoori Mohalla in Basti Danishmanda. The teams visited 795 houses, checked 1,088 waste containers and 322 desert coolers and detected dengue larvae at 67 places, including 19 cases in Navi Baradari, 14 in Lasoori Mohalla, 10 in Qazi Mandi and others. Members of the teams interacted with residents and apprised them of that these places could act as a breeding ground for the mosquitoes.
