19 Steel City cowshed owners to face legal action for dumping dung on streets

JAMSHEDPUR: The Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee on Wednesday announced to lodge cases against 19 cowshed owners under Section 133 of CrPC for dumping cow dung on the streets, drains, play-grounds and surroundings.Holding the cowshed owners accountable for creating a favourable breeding ground for aedes mosquitoes, after five cases of dengue was reported from Steel City. "To achieve success in our battle against the vector borne diseases, we have to apply strict measures, sometimes," said a sanitary official. If unused tyres are found to be improperly stored at puncture shops then action will be taken against them," district health surveillance officer Sahir Pal said. "Next in the line are the tyre shops. JNAC sanitary inspectors D K Pandey and S Ghosh recommended to the authorities for action against the cowshed owners at the slums of Gwala basti (Sidhgora), Adarsnagar (Sonari), Shastrinagar (Kadma) and Gandhi Ghat (Sakchi).Special officer Sanjay Kumar issued an order for filing the cases under Section 133 of CrPC that deals with removal of public nuisances..
