Talathi caught accepting Rs 15K bribe

Kolhapur: The Anti-Corruption Bureau caught a talathi (revenue official) red handed, accepting a bribe of Rs15,000. However the deal was settled for Rs 15,000 and the complainant lodged a complaint with ACB Kolhapur.“We confirmed the truth of the allegations and then nabbed the man as he was accepting the bribe money. After Aswale accepted the money, an ACB team arrested him,” said an official who was involved in nabbing the revenue officer. The official is attached to Ispurli village from Karveer taluka.He was accepting the bribe for attaching the names of the complainants’ kin to property documents.Talathi Chandrakant Maruti Aswale, 42, is a resident of Ispurli.
