Timely action by residents of Bank Street area and the administration averted the fire. The rescue operation was supervised by Ahmedgarh SDM Vikramjeet Singh Panthey and city SHO Amandeep Kaur. Residents of the area and bank staff, instead of waiting for fire engines to arrive, started dousing fire with water supply from various houses. Appreciating the coordinated efforts made by the residents and the administration in controlling the fire, Ahmedgarh SDM Vikramjeet Singh Panthey said banks officials had been asked to prepare a report on probable reason behind the fire..
