more-inThe Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court on Thursday directed the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments department to issue consolidated instructions and circulars for the eviction of all commercial establishments inside temples. The commercial establishments within temples not only affected the pilgrims but also the architectural values and sentiments attached to the temple. The court acknowledged that nearly 36,000 temples were under the control of the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department, and steps should be taken towards their maintenance. Justice S.
