Rajasthan police raid brothels in Meerut’s Kabadi Baazar to find abducted girl

AHTU teams have been rescuing young girls trafficked form different parts of the country and forced into prostitution.“Once court releases them, they go back to same place in absence of any proper rehabilitation. Even if we send them to their parents, the trade draws them back because it is their only source of livelihood,” an AHTU official, on the condition of anonymity, said. Police officials claim that minor girls from Rajasthan, Nepal, Bihar and West-Bengal are trafficked for flesh trade in Kabadi Baazar area.Police claim that the young woman and minor girls, who have been forced into the flesh trade, are caught in a viscous circle of miseries and rarely make their way out.“We have raised these brothels on several occasions following complaint of NGOs. Meerut: A police team from Rajasthan’s Sikar district arrived on Saturday morning and raided several locations in Meerut’s Kabadi Bazar area to trace a missing minor girl who was abducted by traffickers and forced into flesh trade in one of the many brothels in the area.The team sought help from local police following which a team of Brahmapuri police station was also pressed in action. Young women, including minors, who are rescued in these raids, deny any coercion when produced in court and are released,” SP (city) said.There is a special Anti-Human Trafficking Unit headed by an officer of the rank of inspector in each of the major districts of the state..
