Mysuru: Calling India’s first Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru the symbol of scientific temper , noted writer CP Krishnakumar on Wednesday said, “In his book, ‘Shashti Namana’, poet laureate Kuvempu appreciated Nehru’s attitude to science and spirituality. The workshop was organised on the occasion of Nehru’s birth anniversary, and as part of the Kannada Rajyotsava celebrations. Nehru was an atheist, and being one is not a crime. People have to move beyond superstition, and start to believe in science.”Krishnakumar, who inaugurated a workshop for pourakarmikas organised by the Janani Seva Trust at Akkana Balaga School, called on people to cultivate a scientific temper by educating themselves and acquiring knowledge.
