Summary:

Mysuru: The Union Building , an architectural jewel attached to the University of Mysore , is a heritage building lying in ruins. Until the construction of Crawford Hall in 1958, Union Building inside Maharaja’s College served as the administrative office of the University of Mysore. We had been urging the university authorities to renovate and maintain Union Building, even when Prof Talawar and Shashidhar Prasad were vice-chancellors. I have also requested the administration of Maharaja’s College to prepare a list of requirements. The two-storeyed structure located inside Maharaja’s College campus is crying for attention – its roof is leaking and walls have turned mossy. The Union Building was built in 1920 and housed university departments, a reading room and a bank..
