Training for drivers of school buses

Summary:

The training has been organised to ensure that drivers of school buses and vans have proper knowledge of traffic rules. The training will revolve around the safety of students and importance of accident-free transportation of students.The two-hour training is mandatory for all school bus and van drivers. A special workshop designed by the regional transport office (RTO) for school bus drivers will be inaugurated on Thursday at the Traffic Education Park of Nashik First organisation.RTO officials said, as per the directives from the state transport commissioner, they have started providing refresher training to drivers. Since August 2014, the RTO has imparted training to 75,000 drivers.The RTO has issued 1,800 school bus permits and the number is increasing with the rising number of schools in the district. The drivers can attend the training on any Monday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday in April and May.The RTO will demand the certificate of training when the drivers go for renewing their driving licence or vehicle fitness certificate.Municipal commissioner Tukaram Mundhe will be the chief guest and regional transport officer Bharat Kalaskar will be the guest of honour at the inaugural function..
