NASHIK: The activists have sought authority’s help in saving the three ancient trees near archaeology department at Sarkarwada, which were found to be poisoned with chemicals.The activists have demanded immediate action to save the trees, saying that poisoning of the trees was akin to illegal hacking. Local corporators had raised the issue in NMC meetings.“Poisoning of three trees has been done with the intention to remove them. We can also file a complaint against unknown persons, but as per our experience it does not help in tracing the offender. We have complained to the Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) about the poisoning along with photos on its app,” said social activist Jagbir Singh.Officials of the archaeology department said that they would not poison the trees if they wanted it cut..
