IIT-Delhi to conduct safety audit of Yamuna Expressway

GREATER NOIDA: Seven years after its inauguration and more than 770 fatalities later, the state government has finally commissioned a safety audit of Yamuna Expressway , and that too by IIT-Delhi . The Yamuna Expressway was inaugurated in August 2012 by then chief minister Akhilesh Yadav. In response to an RTI query, the government revealed there are approximately 30 black spots on the Yamuna Expressway between Greater Noida and Agra. The audit report is expected to be submitted by March 2019.“The IIT-Delhi team will identify geometric deficiencies in the Yamuna Expressway alignment, including the entry/exit ramps, toll booths and all facilities along the corridor with respect to safety.
