High Court orders CBI probe into dowry death, pulls up cops for laxity

GREATER NOIDA: The Allahabad high court has ordered a CBI inquiry into the death of 29-year-old Guddi, who was allegedly beaten and tortured by her parents-in-laws for Rs 5 lakh and a Scorpio. She was allegedly beaten up with a horsewhip and sharp edged objects by a ‘tantrik’ hired by her in-laws. But the victim’s name is Guddi and all her documents attest that her name was not Kajal. Also, the cops completely ignored the visible injury marks on her body,” said Singh.The counsel further said the police had informed the court that the woman’s viscera sample was preserved.
