PATNA: The Patna district administration on Saturday handed over an ex gratia of Rs 4 lakh to the family of 10-year-old Deepak Kumar, who had fallen into an open drain adjacent to a sump house at Punachak on November 17, after rescuers failed to trace the boy even on Saturday.“We have given Rs 4 lakh as ex gratia to the family of the boy as he could not be traced. The administration is in constant touch with the boy’s family members and the rescuers. The search operation will continue on a small scale as the rescue officials need time to regain strength and perform other disaster-related tasks,” Patna DM Kumar Ravi said.The DM admitted that a CCTV footage clearly showed Deepak and his friend moving in the area on the fateful day..
