Dastur Hormazdiar students get Nasa astronaut training experience

Pune: Four students from Sardar Dastur Hormazdiar High School with their principal, Preeti Sahni, visited the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (Nasa) for the Astronaut Training Experience (ATX) during their recent educational trip to the US.The participating students included Ayush Kothari (Std X), Momin Chhagala (Std IX), Yonous Chhagala (Std VIII) and Karim Chhagala (Std VI).During ATX, the students were given a brief astronaut training and were shown 3D shows and relevant films. The two-week programme aimed at training government and private high school students in the basics of Information Technology and kindling their interest in the field.During the programme, the students developed various projects in their training period and won prizes in various categories. About 35 students from different schools in Pune were selected for the programme based on an entrance test. Principal Leena Bhosale said, “We need to serve humanity by encouraging sustainable development through judicious use of natural resources.”.
