Woman is Pune’s 1st dengue fatality of ’2019

PUNE: The city reported its first dengue death this year on March 27, when a 55-year-old woman , died at the Poona Hospital of dengue fever-induced complications. The Kondhwa resident was diabetic and she had developed septic shock that precipitated her death.“The woman had developed fever and body ache on March 22. The patient then suffered septic shock along with organ dysfunction and died on March 27. “She had developed severe breathlessness and was put on ventilator support. She, therefore, shifted to the Poona Hospital for higher medical care,” said a doctor from the Kamal Nursing Home in Market Yard.During the course of her treatment at the Poona Hospital, the woman’s condition worsened..
