HP school board mulls chapter on state matyrs

Dharamshala: In a bid to familiarise students about the martyrdom by local youths while protecting the borders of the country, the Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HPBoSE) proposes to amend the syllabus and introduce chapters about martyrs from the state.The proposed changes in the syllabus will happen in the coming academic year. Speaking to TOI about the proposed changes in the syllabus, Chairman of HPBoSE, Suresh Kumar Soni said, ``Youths from Himachal have sacrificed their lives in the service of the nation but they have failed to find a mention.’’He said it is not only in the recent terror attack at Pulwama in Jammu and Kashmir that youths from the hill state have sacrificed their lives but they have also laid down their lives during the attack on Pathankot airbase in Punjab..
