Heavy rain hits train schedule

The lines have been cleared with the up and down lines restored at 3pm and 4pm respectively. Surat : Passengers at Surat and other South Gujarat railway stations were stranded after a delay of more than an hour for trains between Mumbai and Ahmedabad. Movement was normal after 4pm.” This was due to heavy Waterlogging at Nalasopara and Virar following heavy rains in the last 24 hours on Monday.Dadar-Bhuj Express, Dadar-Ajmer Express, Mumbai Central-Ahmedabad double decker, Mumbai Central-Ahmedabad Karnavati Express, Bandra Terminus-Jodhpur Suryanagari Express and several other trains were rescheduled due to the Waterlogging.Train movement on the up and down lines was restored after 3pm but the speed of the trains was kept under control to avoid any untoward incident.Commercial inspector of Surat railway station, Ganesh Jadhav, said, “The Western Railway staff worked tirelessly to clear the tracks which were flooded due to the heavy rains in Mumbai..
