Bharuch pounded by 114mm rainfall chemist electrocuted

R G Kanungo, superintending engineer, SSNNL told TOI: "Water level is constantly rising due to good rainfall in near Omkareshwar which is called as intervening area. The level has increased by 18 cm and on Friday it reached 109.86 m.

Before few months, the water level in the dam had touched the historic low of 104 m. Many houses in low lying areas of old Bharuch were also submerged. The victim Diptesh Shah was trying to repair the unit of his split air-conditioner (AC) on the terrace which was full of water. As soon as he stepped in the water, he was electrocuted..
