SURAT: Traffic situation in the walled city and other areas including Adajan and Athwalines may worsen on Monday following two huge protest rallies proposed to be taken out by Gujarat Khedut Samaj ( GKS ) and Federation of Gujarat Weavers’ Association ( FOGWA ) against Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC).Tens of hundreds of villagers from over 84 villages in Olpad and Choriyasi talukas in Surat district will take to the streets under the leadership of GKS to protest against the proposed plan of SMC to develop a solid waste dumping site at Olpaad’s Bhadut village.The villagers will gather at the cotton spinning mill at Jehangirpura and participate in the rally covering Adajan, Rander, Palanpur Patia, Chowk Bazaar to reach SMC headquarters in Mughalsarai.GKS president Jayesh Patel said, “We won’t let SMC to develop a solid waste dumping site at Bhadut village at any cost..
