Trichy: Unidentified burglars struck at two houses in Ezhil Nagar in Thiruverumbur and decamped with gold jewellery in the early hours of Monday.The first incident took place at the residence of R Murugan, 43, a BHEL employee at JDR campus in Ezhil Nagar in Thiruverumbur. Murugan rushed to the house on getting the news and informed the Thiruverumbur police. His wife, Vani and their children were at home while Murugan was at a private hospital where his mother was admitted on Sunday night. They gagged her with a piece of cloth and tied her hands with rope before snatching her gold chain. A complaint was registered.The burglars also targeted another house in the same apartment where the residents had gone to their relative’s house in Tirunelveli..
