Summary:

Vadodara: After a gap of nearly three months, train movement on broad gauge line at Chhota Udepur town in the tribal-dominated district will resume with effect from Wednesday.Officials of Vadodara railway division on Monday announced that the rail traffic between Bodeli and Chhota Udepur will resume from September 12.It was in mid-June that Vadodara railway division of Western Railway had decided to stop train services following trespassing on the railway track.“The train services between Pratapnagar and Chhota Udepur which were cancelled so far and between Bodeli and Chhota Udepur which were suspended, will resume,” said an official. The railway division had fully cancelled a pair of trains and partially cancelled three pairs of trains to and from Chhota Udepur. The partially cancelled trains were earlier cancelled between Bodeli and Chhota Udepur. The railway division had taken the decision after noticing unauthorized movement on the broad gauge railway track where a group had dumped mud on the railway track to cross the railway crossing and create a pathway. The division officials had earlier claimed that their efforts to stop trespassing on the railway track had proved futile as a group of locals had been opposing their efforts to clear the tracks and make them safe for train movement.“Now, the mud which was dumped at the spot has been removed and the stretch barricaded to make it safe for train movement,” said an official..
